My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dorothy. This classic brown tabby was rescued from a colony on the border of Bloomfield and North Oakland as a young mother. At just 7 months old, she had already had one litter of kittens. She didn't seem like a truly feral cat, so we decided to keep her inside and give her a second chance.

Over the last 10 months in foster, she's come a long way. She can still be very wary of humans and jumpy to touch, but she's made so much progress that we're sure will only continue in the right home. From taking every chance she could to hide, to now greeting her foster at the door and even rubbing on their legs at dinner time. And now, if you're lucky, she will let you sneak in a pet or two at dinner time or at your feet if she's in the mood! She's an incredibly sweet cat that deserves a calm, patient, and loving home that is willing to give her the time that she needs to fully trust and feel comfortable and safe.

Dorothy is a young and energetic girl and LOVES to play. She'll unleash her inner kitten on any wand toy yoy have and loves to play in her tunnel. She also loves other cats once she gets to know them. Having been a young mother, she's a bit of a matriarch and will mother any cat she meets regardless of age. She knows her boundaries and is not afraid to teach a new cat what they are with a good wack. But with a good and proper introduction, she'll be cuddling and playing the day away with her new friends and needs a home with other cats.

Dorothy is about a year and a half, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need.

Each and every cat in our care has their own story and background. They are all fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless otherwise specified). Because of this, our adoption fee is $95 for one cat over 1-year-old or $155 for 2 and $110 for one cat under 1-year-old or $195 for 2.

Our approval process includes a vet reference (personal reference if you've not had a vet in the last 5 years), virtual home tour, and landlord approval should you be a renter.

The completion of an application does not guarantee approval for adoption.
