My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cucumber is a goofy dog, full of character. He is curious and bright, eager to please, and what I would consider a follower. He likes to roll on his back, with his legs in the air, for belly rubs while he squeaks his toy. He bonds very quickly and once he's come to trust you, displays a very good-natured and tolerant disposition.

Cucumber is crate-trained, rides calmly in the car, LOVES water/baths and walks well on leash. He has learned "sit" and "down." He has never had an accident in the house so far, but we do utilize the crate and make sure to provide plenty of potty breaks.

As expected of a young dog, he does need regular exercise. He loves to fetch and play with other dogs, though some dogs may find his playfulness overwhelming. If he's in the same room as you, he can amuse himself with squeaky toys for quite a long time. He is able to settle down nicely after about 15 minutes of vigorous exercise.

Cucumber is a boy who is still discovering the world, and continued socialization will help to build his confidence. He is highly treat-motivated which makes him easy to train. He would do very well in a home with another dog who's confident and can show him the ropes.

Cucumber is approx 1.5 years old and 65 lbs. His is guessed to be a mix of shepherd and greyhound, though his exact breed is unknown. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on shots.

Please send an email to request an adoption application. Cucumber is currently being fostered in PLEASANT HILL. There is a $200 tax-deductible adoption fee to help cover medical expenses. The fee will be REFUNDED upon proof of purchase of pet insurance or training in at least the same amount. A homecheck will also be required to ensure he goes to an environment best suited to his needs.
