This guy is eye catching! Such an interesting mix. We joked that they made him out of spare parts but it’s really like he was made with the cutest parts. Big ears, long body, square head and that smile is the best!
Nico had a crappy start to life. He was adopted from a city shelter at a VERY young age and lived with the only family he knew for the first 1.5 years of his life but months of that time he was suffering in physical pain. Both of his front knees were injured (suspect from the child being too rough with him when he was a tiny puppy) and it went untreated. He walked like a senior, arthritic dog. Well, one day while he was sleeping the child jumped on him and that caused Nico to be startled and he nipped the kid. No damage was done but they dumped him back at the shelter.
Our friend who volunteers for the shelter met him and became his biggest advocate- with all the rescues being overloaded, she ended up pulling him on her own and getting his double knee surgery done.
He’s a grateful dog, he’s got a new lease on life and he’s going to make someone VERY happy.
