My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FENCE REQUIRED

Chip is a giant young goofball with a heart of gold! This energetic boy has absolutely blossomed since he started getting lots of attention and TLC at his foster home.

Chip’s foster mom says that he’s a sweet, tender-hearted boy who has so much love to give. He’s an affectionate, devoted companion who loves to give bear hugs! He’s also enjoyed learning about the finer things in life, like sleeping on dog beds and cuddling on the couch, since he was rescued.

Chip is a youngster with quite a lot of energy, so we think he would make a great addition to a very active family. He is a textbook extrovert who needs at least one dog sibling to play with, especially when his people aren’t around. He loves humans of all ages and does great with kids, too! Chip would play ball all day long if you let him, and while he excels at playing “find,” he’s also been working really hard on his “fetch” game.

Chip has great recall, and like all Collies, he responds incredibly well to praise, redirection, and positive reinforcement. He’s doing pretty well with his puppy manners and is working on mastering basic commands and walking on a leash. He loves to use his voice (loudly) to tell you how he feels, and he hopes that his forever family will love listening to his symphony of barks, yips, and Chewbacca talk as much as he loves putting on his vocal performances.

Chip loves exploring outdoors and really needs a fenced-in yard to make sure that he doesn’t adventure too far on his own. He also enjoys being brushed—as long as he’s allowed to sneak in frequent snuggles! He’s less enthused about having his nails clipped and filed, but he doesn’t mind holding paws with people that he trusts.

If you’re looking for a dynamic, loving young lad to join you on all your adventures, Chip might be the perfect pup for you! He’ll be ready to go home with his forever family in early November.
