Brutus is a sweet, gentle dog with a calm demeanor and a deeply loyal nature. He tends to bond more quickly with women, though he can warm up to men with time and consistency. Once trust is established, Brutus is affectionate, attentive, and enjoys being close to his people.
Brutus is good on leash and enjoys getting outside for walks and hiking, making him a great companion for relaxed outdoor adventures. He also appreciates downtime and is content lounging in the sun or resting comfortably near his humans.
At this time, Brutus would do best in a home without young children, as he is still working on improving his food-related behaviors. Continued training and structure will be important to help him succeed. For management and safety, Brutus would benefit from having a baby gate in the hallway leading to the front door, as he can become overly excited when people are entering or leaving the home.
Brutus is looking for a patient, understanding family who will respect his pace and provide clear boundaries. With consistency and guidance, he has the potential to be a wonderful, devoted companion.
If you’re interested in meeting Brutus, please visit SPARC during open hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. He would love the chance to meet you.
