My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucky’s is a sweet, beautiful little dog. He wears a belly wrap as he came "housebroken", but was not, but he is doing much better. He is in a foster home now that has a fenced in backyard and he goes number two outside and he goes number one and then they usually put the belly wrap on him at night but he’s doing fabulous with the potty training . He is very smart. His foster mama absolutely loves him. He backs right up to her to get his belly wrap on every night . He would be perfect in a retired couple's or woman's home. He would do fine with female dogs. He is smart and listens to commands. He is a little tad bit spoiled. . He would be fine with older children but not toddlers. He loves his human and sleeps great in the bed. Please fill out your application and we will process it and call you. We have a 606 area code when we call.

Go meet their pets

Our available pets are on Adopt-a-Pet and our Facebook page: Stray Hearts Animal Rescue@strayheart.org
Visitors can also see the life-saving work we do in the heart of Eastern KY in Appalachia.

Since we are in a rural area, in order to reach more adopters, and save more lives, we offer transports to Lexington and other cities and areas in KY. Pets are s/n and vetted. If
the adoption does not work out, we will always take the pet back.
