🐾 Meet Bob — Your Adventure-Loving, Big-Hearted Best Friend
Social • Gentle • Energetic • Long Timer
Bob is a handsome Shepherd mix with a golden heart and an unstoppable love for people. He’s been in our care since September 2023, making him one of our long timer dogs — not because he’s overlooked, but because he’s waiting for the right home that truly fits who he is.
One thing is immediately clear about Bob: he has zero stranger danger. None. If you’re human, Bob is already convinced you’re a friend he just hasn’t met yet. He approaches new people with open-hearted enthusiasm and a whole lot of love to give.
🐕 Social Skills & Personality
Bob is a social butterfly through and through.
• Loves all people — friends, strangers, visitors, delivery folks, you name it
• Greets new humans with happy energy and genuine affection
• Excellent with dogs of all ages, sizes, and play styles
• Calm and tolerant even with strong personalities (his foster sister Mala keeps him on his toes!)
• Has done well around cats; if they ignore him, he happily does the same
If you enjoy hosting, working around others, or bringing your dog along for daily outings, Bob will thrive in your world.
🚗 Life With Bob
Bob is well-mannered and ready for real life:
• Fully housebroken
• Walks nicely on a leash
• Loves car rides and adventures
• Enjoys all kinds of toys — squeakers, ropes, balls, and everything in between
• Happiest when he can be near his people and included in daily life
He does best in a home with another dog, both for companionship and confidence-building.
🏡 Important Home Match Notes
Bob is a big, strong, active, excitable dog who experiences life with joyful intensity.
• When excited, Bob may jump up in greeting
• Because of his size and enthusiasm, he would do best in a home without young children
• Ideal for adults, teens, or families comfortable handling a large, energetic dog
This isn’t about behavior concerns — it’s simply about matching Bob with a home where everyone feels confident and safe.
💛 Emotional Needs & Support
Bob struggles with separation anxiety and does not do well being left alone for long periods.
• Can become destructive if isolated
• Does not thrive in standard kennels
• Needs a home where someone is around most of the time or can provide a secure setup
🌟 The Bottom Line
Bob is not a “set it and forget it” dog — but for the right person, he is a once-in-a-lifetime companion. He is loving, social, joyful, and deeply connected to his humans. If you want a dog who greets the world with an open heart and wants to be part of everything you do, Bob is your guy.
✨ Bob is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit!
If you’re ready to be Bob’s whole world — he’s been patiently waiting for you.
