My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

George is a 173 pound 4.5 year old English Mastiff who is a very sweet boy with his people. He is happiest on a couch or bed watching tv or just chilling, and loves laying/sitting where he can see outside. He likes women and kids, but is a little slower to warm up to men. His favorite chew toy is a deer antler and he does great in the house if you leave him out. He is not destructive other than the occasional stuffed animal. George takes prozac (licking behavior) and apoquel (itching) daily. He takes his meds like a champ in a pill pocket or with peanut butter. He would do best in a home with big dog experience as an only dog. A fenced yard would be ideal, although he is not overly active, but has some small prey drive. He attended  a 3 week training program and is pretty good on a leash.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Go meet their pets

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.

You can view our schedule of events at www.adoptapitrescue.org/events or on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adoptapitrescue

More about this rescue
