My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunfish is a 3.5 year old dark orange tabby. She is a calm cat who prefers to snuggle with her cat friends than be out and about here at the shelter. She is not a fan of the hustle and bustle around the shelter and would do much better in a home environment. A home with no kids would be best as she would likely be scared of them. She would love to find a home with some cat friends that she can be more comfortable around.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
