My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Kelly is an estimated 1.5 to 2-year-old, 56 lb female Shepherd mix who is dog and people-friendly.  She was getting stressed in the kennel but did well on a temperament test with a male pit bull. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care.

Foster Update: Kelly is a sweet, gentle pup who loves all people! She enjoys toys and playing fetch and does well entertaining herself with a squeaky toy or dog puzzle. She is quite intelligent, very treat motivated, and happy to take direction, so is picking up new commands quickly. She knows sit, down, stay, place, crate, and leave it! She is house and crate-trained, and walks well on leash, but is excitable so will need boundaries to address puppy-like behaviors like jumping up. Kelly can be a bit overexcited when she plays, but plays well with our smaller female husky mix and peacefully walks away when our resident doesn’t feel like sharing toys. She did like to chase the cats in her previous foster home so would need more training/management and dog-savvy cats, or a cat-free home. Kelly still has a lot of youthful exuberance and will do best with an active family committed to providing her with adequate mental and physical stimulation as well as continued training.

Adopter Profile:

  • Large breed experience preferred
  • Single family residence with fenced yard preferred
  • OK as only dog or with resident dog(s)
  • Dog savvy cats considered
  • Dog savvy kids OK
  • Commitment to training

Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, deworming, microchip and registration, and vet exam.  Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.

Animal History: Kelly was listed for euthanasia at the Moreno Valley Shelter in California due to overcrowding. She is arriving in Seattle on Oct. 8, 2023. She is in foster care in Lynnwood and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.
