My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willow is guessed to be 3-4 years old and weighs 75 pounds. She is housetrained and is crate trained but prefers to sleep beside your bed at night. With proper introduction, she should be able to get along with other dogs. Willow is a loyal and devoted companion who has excellent recall and just wants to be with her humans! She has jumped a fence to get to her foster mom so a leash walk home would be just fine for her!

The willow tree is a symbol of new life. A willow branch can be planted in the ground and from it, a new tree will grow in its place. Its ability to grow and survive is powerfully symbolic and shows we can thrive even in challenging conditions. Willow was given this name because of her strength and will to survive. If you look at the picture of her her when she came to us, you can see how she has thrived!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
