Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Auggie – a snuggle machine and real life squishmallow (just look at that face)! He loves being with his foster family and wants to be the center of your world. He’s always on the hunt for a cuddle buddy and will curl up next to you as soon as you sit down. He’s wonderful with kids (his foster kids are age 10 and 8) and will gladly roll on his back for some belly rubs. He’s housebroken, knows how to use a dog door, and is working on crate training. He’s very smart and quickly learned he gets a treat every time he goes into his crate. Because he loves being with his humans so much, he does whine when he’s left alone but is never destructive. This can be easily resolved with a treat dispensing puzzle ball, frozen kong, or other chew toys which keep him mentally stimulated. He loves his walks, is great on the leash and also enjoys getting some energy out by playing fetch in the yard or going for a hike.
Auggie loves other dogs and gets along with the 5 year old Beagle in his foster home but his medium energy can be overwhelming at first so slow introductions are best. He can be protective of toys which is something we’re working on. When he was surrendered to animal control with his sister, Alma, he had a skin allergy but it’s clearing up nicely with medicated baths. His neuter is scheduled for the end of November and then he'll be ready to go to his forever home. Auggie gives so much love and deserves a forever family who will shower him hugs, kisses, belly rubs, and snuggles for the rest of his life.
