Scotty is a 19 pound 100% Yorkie (yes, they come that big). He is looking for a nice quiet home where he can give plenty of love and cuddles. He's one of the smartest dogs you'll meet and is 100% house-trained and knows commands like sit, stay, down, leave it, shake, paw, turn around and more. He loves running around a back yard and getting energy out / chasing squirrels.
He's faced several challenges in his life, but with the right person, he'll thrive!
Scotty had a burst disc in his back that was surgically repaired almost 3 years ago, so he shouldn't be encouraged to jump and shouldn't be allowed to jump on and off of beds, furniture, etc.
He is a reactive dog, so the quieter the home, the better. He reacts to knocks at the door, the mailman, or if in the backyard - people or dogs in the next yard. On walks he might bark and lunge if someone surprises him by suddenly exiting a car/house or flying by on a bike. Otherwise he loves walks.
He needs some work learning to be friendly to guests. He'll be loving and calm down quickly for guests he's seen several times, but new guests are a bit of a struggle, but can be managed with patience and practice.
To help with some of that and general anxiety, he is on several meds he gets every 8 hours, so the best home is someone that can continue that schedule and the cost financially (approx. $70/mo).
Scotty loves to follow you around and would be best with someone who is home a lot of the time.
He is dog selective, and is a little "bossy" and wants to be the alpha.
No small children. He has not been tested with cats.
Scotty is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped
Scotty Francis' adoption fee is $200
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.
Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
