My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Squid!

Squid comes from a hoarding situation with over 70 cats. Their previous owner helped one pregnant kitty and before long, the house was exploding with kittens before they even knew it! The previous owners worked hard to socialize and give love to all of the cats in their home, so the cats from this home are friendly once they get over their initial shyness.

Squid was one of the last cats pulled from the house over the span of weeks. She very quickly got comfortable in her foster home and became one of the friendlier kitties we had! She is very sweet and loves getting pets, brushes, and forehead kisses! Squid can be a little shy at first in a new environment but we're confident that she'll adjust quickly, much like she did when she came to us at TCR! Squid has big round gold eyes that gives her the appearance of always being shocked! This girl loves attention, pets, purring, and all around a sweet little gal. Squid is young, active, and used to other cats, so she would need to go home with another kitty she's being fostered with, or to a home that already has an active, playful cat. We think that Squid would do well in a home with older kids who can respect that she'll need some adjusting time at first. We also believe she could go to a home with a friendly dog with proper introductions.

Squid is about one year old, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FELV tested negative, dewormed, and flea treated. All of the cats from this location had ear mites and they've all been treated for that as well. If this little sweet girl sounds like a match, apply for her today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
