My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charles was abandoned by his owner in the cold, left crammed in a carrier on the porch of a local resident. He has been with the shelter a lot longer than most cats because he has a strong personality.

Being abandoned in a too small carrier, he now has a fear of carriers and can be fearful when anyone reaches over his head.

If you want to know more about this cat, email us here: wacvolunteers@gmail.com!

* AGE : Between 3-4 years (estimate)
* TEMPERAMENT: Loves to quietly observe but also loves to play
* Why are they at the shelter? abandoned by owner in a carrier on a random
porch
* Any Health issues? None known
* How are they with other cats? Dogs? Charles seems to do well with other
animals who have similar temperaments
* Volunteer Comments? "Such a dignified gentleman" "Love to watch him play with toys!"

Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat!

NOW HOW DO I MEET OR ADOPT THIS CAT?

!. Go to our website at wacshelter.com.

2. Click on the "Apply To Adopt" button to submit an online adoption application.

** NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your
application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check
your "spam" folder.

3. Your application will be processed and a volunteer adoption counselor will call or email with any questions.

** NOTE: If any questions are left unanswered or incomplete, the application
cannot be processed. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to
process! Missing or inaccurate answers may invalidate the application.

4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt!

** NOTE: Our volunteers strive to make the best possible match once the application is accepted. Our goal is a fit that benefits both the cat and the home!

** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable pet experience.

All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated.

All cats are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.

All of our resident cats use their litter boxes unless otherwise indicated. Cats are naturally inclined to use a litter box.

Cat Fact: If a domestic cat is not using a litter box THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG! It should never be ignored! Your cat is depending on you for help.

Our adoption fee for felines is $65.

That covers the cost of spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV test, deworming, flea prevention (if applicable) and vaccinations (if applicable).

We look forward to meeting you!

Please email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any additional question

** NOTE: Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :)

More about this shelter

The Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center acts as the adoption facility for Downriver Central Animal Control. The intake facility (located in Southgate, MI) handles all intakes (strays, abandoned animals, court cases...). The adoption facility (located in Wyandotte, MI) brings the animals over (if adoptable) and have completed their requisite holds at the intake facility. This can sometimes take a few weeks if the adoption center is at capacity. The facilities handle approximately 500-700 animals per year.
OUR ADOPTION FACILITY IS RESCUE FRIENDLY.
