My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET ONE OF THE "MISSING CHANDLER" LITTER PUPPIES!

These littles are 9 weeks old. Their mama was rescued (along with 4 kittens) from a church in Macon County. About two weeks after taking this stray female in, her new family discovered she was going to have puppies. The puppies stayed with mom for about six weeks until they were weaned and then they reached out for help to find good homes for the puppies. Mama has been spayed and is staying with the family that rescued her.

There are 3 girls and 2 boys. Mom looks most like a Rat Terrier and we're told she is about 20 lbs. None of the puppies look anything like her and all look like they will be quite a bit bigger than their mama. Two are black and tan and three are blond. They look most like lab/hound type mixes and none look anything like their mama. Based on their weights at 9 weeks old (~8-12 lbs) we think they will be medium-size (45-60 lb) adult dogs but could possibly get larger. We haven't had them long enough to track how fast they are growing.

The puppies are friendly and happy but can be a little timid initially. They act as if they've been hurt (whether intentionally or accidentally we don't know) and shy back sometimes when we pick them up. Once picked up, though, they snuggle in and love to be cuddled. They are getting better quickly so hopefully this will not be an issue too long. Because of this we think they would do best in a home with no children or older children who will always be very gentle with them. We don't want them to even accidentally be hurt again (and that can happen with younger children) and relive that trauma that seems to be in their past.

They have their first round of puppy shots, bordetella, parasite treatment, and microchips and all received a good report from our vet.

If you think you might want to give this sweet pup a home, please email jojosdogrescue@gmail.com and we will send you an application, or visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download one. Adoption fee is $250, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment, and microchip with lifetime registration.

Please visit our Facebook page JoJo's DogHouse (non-profit) to learn more about us and see many of the dogs we have rescued. We hope you'll join JoJo's family of adopters.
