My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There is an adorable video of me on ACC's TikTok page. Click here to experience the cuteness!

My foster writes:
Mika is such a sweet, independent and smart cat. It didn't take her long to get used to her new surroundings and she made herself at home right away. She loves to be around the people she loves and will follow you to the room you're in. She naps by us in her favorite spots (under the dining table and on her blanket on the sofa). When we're working from home she will nap on the chair next to us or on our laps. She used her cat bed for only the first few days but then preferred to nap in the room someone else was in. We're greeted when we wake up with soft meows and chirps. When we enter the house, she likes to greet us as the door. About 60 percent of her day is spent napping, 25 percent grooming herself and the other 15 percent is eating, looking out the window or playing with us. We consider her a very low maintenance cat. She will approach you often for cheek and chin scratches and prefers to be left alone when she doesn't want them. Might be better in an household with no young children because she likes to be approached slowly if contact is not initiated by her.

She is brave and affectionate, loves people, adores cuddling (on her terms) and loves to play with strings, hair ties, and tunnels. Even when she's not playing or cuddling, she likes to be where the people are. She can be aggressive when overexcited or overstimulated, and would be best in a home without small children or other animals.

She's got special medical needs: she is overgrooming, so she needs to wear a cone. She's on two medications that she takes mixed with one of her meals, which she eats with no problem

What my friends at ACC say about me:

The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.
