My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Devante has the most fantastic mane of hair. He looks a little like a lion and he certainly has the big cat’s bravery. But this sweet mini Aussie has a gentle heart. Devante was hit by a car dodging traffic and is recuperating well after surgery to mend a broken leg. Just about a year or two old, this wonderful pup is vision and hearing impaired. He can see and hear a bit and navigates the world well.

He loves to go out and run around the backyard, but inside he’s quite happy to nap around his people. He has a great time playing with his canine foster sister and enjoys checking out the neighborhood on short walks. He’ll play with toys sometimes, but really is happiest just being near his foster family.

Devante is good in the car, is working on house training and leash walking, and does well in the crate when he’s alone. At night, he prefers sleeping in his dog bed around his people. He would love a home where people are around most of the time. He’d prefer a fenced-in yard for safe exploring. He’d love having another dog to play with, but he’d be fine being the only pup as long as he got loads of attention.

This sweet and handsome lion is being fostered in the St. Louis area.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in adoption will be to fill out an application. Once the application is approved, we will contact you. We may also request a home visit which will be done by one of our volunteers. Our goal is to not only find our pups a safe home but ensure it is a good match for the adopter and the pup.

Our adoption donation fee is $300.00. This includes the spay/neuter and the pup being current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped.
