My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ozzie, a beautiful and playful boy looking for a place to call his forever. Ozzie first came to the shelter in 2023 when he had been purchased then surrendered because his owner went into a nursing home. He then was adopted to what we thought would be his forever home, but unfortunately he made his way back to us as a stray over 2 years later with no luck getting in touch with his owner.

At the shelter Ozzie has been an energetic and fun loving boy, who loves to chase after toys and sniff out yummy treats. Ozzie has also joined our playgroup where he has had good dog meets, although can be known for a bit of a forward and pushy style. Ozzie is now ready for a dedicated home who can give him the love and devotion he deserves- meet him at ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm!

Behavior Notes:

Behavior eval 1/23/26:
Kennel Presentation: He was laying on his bed when I approached his kennel and he got right up and came to the front to explore me. I opened the door and put the leash towards him. He backed away the first time, then allowed me to leash very easily and energetically exited his kennel.

Leash Skills: He does pull moderately on leash and is a pretty athletic boy, but it was very easy to handle with some leash pressure. Got playful and started to prance when we were walking.

Sociability: Took hotdogs from me, then always ended up spitting them out on the ground. He didn’t solicit much attention from me and spent much of our time outside sniffing around the yard. Took pets from me when I called him over and had loose body language and a relaxed wagging tail. He tried to sniff more treats out of my fanny pack and took hotdog this time when I gave them. Inside he showed me that he knows sit and I think he might know Paw. He did fine meeting new handlers in the office.

Play: Didn’t show any interest in toys at first. He got very playful after he got more comfortable and loved to chase around squeaky toys! He played fetch nicely and allowed me to approach him when he was playing with the toy.

Dog Interaction: None today

Return to Kennel: No issues

Color Level: I’m giving him gold since he’s slightly strong and can get jumpy while playing, but it was very easy to handle overall

Behavior Eval 11/12/23: Eval 11/12. Very high energy but sweet. Foster eligible , adult only home preferred due to jumpiness/high energy
