My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Albert Fitzgerald! He is 9 years old and weighs 4 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Albert came to our rescue after he was surrendered from a breeding operation, along with several other dogs.

Albert's life may now be filled with love and care, but it does not appear that was always the case for sweet Albert. He took a long time to trust his current foster; it was almost a month before he would allow his foster mom to pick him up or hold him. He now will accepts love and pets but sometimes gets scared and runs away. Some nights he enjoys snuggles in his bed with his human and other nights he prefers to snuggle in a dog bed on the floor. But he's slowly been coming out of his shell and he is always happy to see his foster when she comes home from work.

He lives with other small dogs and gets along with everyone! He also lives with cats but doesn't seem to pay them any attention at all. He does live in a foster home with older children and loves getting attention and pets from them. Due to his size and experiences, he would likely do best in a home without very young children.

Albert was not house trained when he came to us, but he is doing great with learning house training. He does have accidents sometimes, but he has never lived In a home so he would need someone willing to give him time and understanding. Albert got a much needed dental cleaning and had almost a mouthful of bad teeth removed, leaving him with only two teeth. Because of this he needs soft food which he doesn't mind at all!

This senior boy deserves a home understanding of his past and willing to give him all the time he would need to adjust to a new environment and to trust new people. He won't adjust overnight he will likely need weeks to accept love and allow his heart to trust. But he is worth the wait! Once you are in his circle, he is an incredibly goofy and sweet, loving boy who likes to snuggle!

He will need a patient forever family who will give him the time he needs to adjust and learn to trust his new people. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@yahoo.com or apply to meet / adopt him at www.muttmisfits.com/adoption-application
