My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tiki comes to us from the island of Saint Martin, where she was surrendered, along with her brothers and sisters in a bucket! She is what is commonly and affectionately called a Coconut retriever. Which is a nice way of saying a mixed breed.

She is about seven months old and will soon be spayed. She’s a friendly girl, active and playful. She would do well with an active family. Another dog would be icing on the cake.

Tiki, as with all puppies, would benefit from some positive training. She gets along very well with the two resident dogs. She seems to like children, but until properly trained would be better with older children rather than toddlers.

If you’re looking for a fun loving furry family member, tiki may be your girl!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

An application must be submitted via email. If the application is approved, the applicant will be contacted by the foster home to set up a mutually convenient time to meet the puppy or dog either in the foster home or their home as agreed between foster and potential adopter. Ample time will be allowed for the animal and the potential adopter to become acquainted, all questions will be answered. At this meeting, if both parties agree that it is a good fit, the adoption goes through.

The adopter pays a $350 adoption fee and signs an adoption and spay/neuter contract. Information on low cost spay neuter options will be provided to the adopter. Island Puppy Rescue will do follow ups to see how the adoption is going.

Go meet their pets

In order to meet our puppies/dogs, you must submit an adoption application and, if the application is approved, we will contact applicants to set up a mutually convenient time for applicants to meet the puppy/dog either at the foster home or the applicant's home.

More about this rescue

Island Puppy Rescue is a small group of volunteers that facilitate the transport and adoption of puppies from the Caribbean Island of Anguilla and/or other islands. We work with Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation (www.aarf.ai) to find permanent loving homes for those animals in need.

All puppies/dogs are vetted before leaving the island and once they are in NJ. All are given age appropriate vaccinations, worming treatments and flea and tick preventative. All puppies/dogs live in foster homes, we do not have a shelter facility. Puppies under six months old are adopted out with a contract stating that the adopter is to have the puppy altered at 6 months of age and provide proof to Island Puppy Rescue of surgery. At that time Island Puppy Rescue will reimburse the adopter $50.00. Puppies over the age of 6 months are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
