Hi, I'm Rebel (but between us, I prefer to go by Butter)!
I am very shy, but really crave being with my humans. I am working on my fears, so it takes me some time to get comfortable with new people, places, and things. Good thing my insatiable curiosity helps with that! Once I get to know you, I will follow you around the house.
I am not food-motivated, but I will beg for human food. My eating style is grazing. However, if you sit with me, I might eat in one sitting.
I listen well but might pretend not to have heard you. I am obedient...eventually. I will try to persuade you to let me on the couch or the bed but will understand if you say no.
I love to fetch! My favorite is to pretend to give you my toy, then take it back. Haha. JK. I'll paw it back to you so you can throw it again.
I've been living in the city just fine. Elevators were scary at first, but I adapted! I'd prefer a backyard you could just let me out to run in for a minute before letting me back in, though.
I can be indecisive at times. Again, I like to try out new things a few times - dip my paws in - before I commit. Walking is a good example. My foster dad says I am a fast study on leash training, just require a firm hand. I love going for a walk, jog, or hike.
If you let me, I'll eventually give you little kisses, love nibbles, and snuggles. The more comfortable I get, the cuter I become.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
