Meet Moonlight!

Hello, my name is Moonlight. I am a gentle, sweet golden oldie from Mississippi. I lived all of my life with one family until my owner entered a nursing home, and my extended family couldn't keep me. So I traveled to Wisconsin and am looking for my forever home! When I came into rescue I was a but plump, but now I'm a healthy 28 pounds, which is good for my hips and my heart. I'm an easygoing gal who likes to be with my people. I don’t hear very well anymore, so I’m good at keeping an eye on you to know you’re near. Since daily noises don’t bother me, I’m a very quiet girl in the house. I do great with a familiar routine and potty outside when let out regularly. I get along with other dogs, particularly if they are mild-mannered. I also like children who are respectful of me, and I even get along with feline friends!

I enjoy cruising in the fenced yard sniffing around, and I love going for strolls on leash around the neighborhood. Continuing regular walks and my new diet are very important for me. I’m in pretty good health overall, but I do take some medicine to help my little heart work its best. My favorite morning pastime is napping, and at night, I will sleep peacefully near you in my own bed. My ideal family would be one who is home often and who continues to give me opportunities to walk and beagle around. I would do best in a home with limited stairs as climbing up a full staircase can sometimes be difficult. Now, I just need to find my forever family who will care for me and love me all the rest of my days. Maybe I'll find my home with you!
