My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are absolutely delighted to be able to present the gorgeous Deni to you.
Deni is a Great Pyrenees / Lab mix who is approximately 2 years old and 65 lbs. She was a staff favorite at the shelter from where she was rescued and has been getting along great with the other dogs. She is a relaxed, gentle girl and we are so happy to have her join the Joshua fund rescue family. We will have more information soon on Deni as she settles into her foster home. Could you be Deni’s forever loving home?
If you live within 350 miles of Lake Placid, NY or in the Houston, Texas area and would like to welcome Deni or another one of our rescue pups into your home, please visit our website https://www.joshuafundrescue.org/adoptioninfo

The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely solely on donations to save dogs like this from high-kill shelters and put them in forever homes. Thank you for helping us save lives!

4. You must also submit 4 or 5 photos of both the interior and exterior of your home. Exterior photos must include the front, the back, a photo that shows how your house is situated in relation to the road it is on, and one of the fenced-in area if you do have a fence. Interior photos should include all of the interior areas where the dog will spend its time.
5. As proof of home ownership, you must submit a scan or a file of a recent property tax receipt, mortgage statement or homeowner’s insurance statement if you own your home.

Are there any adoption requirements related to my current pets?
1. We require that all other pets in your home are up-to-date on vaccinations.
2. We require that all other pets in your home are spayed/neutered.
3. All dogs should be on regular monthly heart worm and appropriate flea/tick prevention medications.

What is the adoption fee?
The adoption fee for any dog or puppy is $450.
The adoption fee helps us to recover a portion of the expenses we routinely incur in rescue (boarding, vaccinations, worming, spay/neuter and transport) so that we can continue to save other dogs. Please note that the adoption fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

When I submit an application, how long does it take to hear from The Joshua Fund?
As soon as we open your completed application, we’ll send you an e-mail acknowledgement. It will take from a few days to two weeks to hear back from us. Our volunteers have day jobs and families to take care of and they do this in their spare time.

Canadian Adopters will have all the paperwork needed to cross the Border the same day (there is no extra charge for the paperwork.) Your fee/fees must be USD.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a physical building like a shelter does. We are a Foster-based Rescue and our dogs and puppies remain with their Foster Family in their city/state of origin until they have a pre-approved, confirmed adopter. We mainly rescue from the Houston, Texas area.

More about this rescue

The Joshua Fund rescues dogs from high kill shelters across the US but primarily from the Houston, TX area. All of our dogs are tested and treated for any medical conditions they may have. They're up to date on shots, are spayed/neutered and are heartworm negative when they get their Health Certificate for interstate travel. We take special care to ensure that our dogs are healthy before they leave for their journey North. We rescue dogs who are unwanted and have no hope for a future without us. We're a small Rescue, taking only as many dogs at a time as we can place into excellent homes. We know that our dogs have a sad past - we strive to give them a wonderful future.
The Joshua Fund is a Registered Rescue with NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Registration No. RR096
