If a potential adopter has other animals in the household, we will schedule a meet & greet to ensure that all get along.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Go to our website at www.humanesocietyofcalvertcounty.org and fill out an application. Once we do our reviews, we will call you for a meet.
- Meet the Pet
- We will do a background check, home check using Google Earth and ensure that the application would be a good fit for our dog.
- Take the Pet Home
- If everything checks out and you don't have other dogs requiring a meet & greet be scheduled, you will be able to adopt the dog that day.

We are a no-kill 501 (c)( 3) non-profit that rescues dogs at risk of euthanasia. We bring them in, fully vet them, microchip them and find them their forever homes.
