My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We at All Paws Matter, as our followers know, love the underdogs. We have found many dogs with special needs the perfect homes and now lead beautiful lives. Ghost, who is now up for adoption, is one of these dogs. It takes a dog with specific needs much longer to find the homes they need but we know Ghost, who is close to perfection will find that home.

PLEASE READ GHOST’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEFORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: GHOST IS BEING FOSTERED IN OTTAWA, ONTARIO
We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

This dog bio is a very special bio indeed. Meet Ghost- a calm, gentle, and affectionate dog who is in need of a special family. There has never been a more gentlemanly dog than Ghost. Every fibre of his being is filled with love for his people. He is sweet, loving, and eager to please.

He was found in front of a house where the owners moved and left him alone to fend for himself. They did come back to feed him occasionally but that was it. He stayed there for a very long time waiting faithfully in hopes that they would return for him. A woman noticed what was happening and brought him to our sister shelter where he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips. He also tested positive for heartworm and was treated with no bad effects. While in the shelter he was bullied and we knew at that moment he needed to come into foster to be safe in a home.

We have found is just wonderful. New or old friends, it doesn't matter; Ghost loves them all and is a very gentle and affectionate boy. He loves to lean softly against people and look up to them with those gorgeous big eyes asking for pets. Belly rubs and gentle back rubs are his favourites. He would stand beside you forever if it meant more pets.

Ghost is also a smart, super chill, and respectful dog who is very good on his own. He is crate-trained and, for the most part, house-trained. Gets along great with other dogs but we are suggesting either very savvy dog cats or not cats. As much as he loves people, he is better with bigger kids due to his hind weakness, so a home with children 10+ is recommended.

Ghost has some limitations. Born with hip dysplasia, He can only go for very short walks, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying life. He is good on a leash and he still enjoys playing with other dogs; just makes sure it is gentle play. We know that Ghost can lead a loving and fulfilled life. He just needs the right person to care for his special needs with love and patience.

Ghost’s ideal home would be with someone who is looking for a quiet, low-key dog that loves attention. Someone who wants to shower their pet with affection and give kisses on his fluffy white head every day. A family or a person who is looking for a loyal companion who is utterly happy and content to lay at their feet would do well with Ghost. A secure yard is necessary, one that provides a safe environment for him to gently stretch his legs, check out the neighbours, and lay in the sun. Someone who works from home either full time or part time would be extremely important for Ghost as he loves the company.

Since Ghost loves to be where his family is, he makes the perfect companion. If you are that special someone who can accept his limitations and love him wholeheartedly, your life will be filled with joy and unconditional love for as long as Ghost is by your side.

If Ghost sounds like a great addition to your home, please complete the adoption paperwork at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/, and we will happily get back to you.
All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.

BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
