PLEASE READ: The story of Ruby is a sad one. She was purchased off of homeless people in S. Central after a good samaritan witnessed her being terribly abused. Needless to say, when we received her, she was absolutely terrified of humans. For the first 6 weeks, she kept herself and small and invisible as she could wedging herself between the wall and a toilet. Gaining her trust was a daunting task. I invested in a Reiki healer to help heal her trauma. That's when the changes started. She no longer lives in the bathroom. As a matter a fact, she loves, loves loves being part of our pack. Ruby should be in a household with confident dogs. She is a very different dog now, but will require patience to get her even more trusting of humans. Ruby has ZERO aggression. She just freezes when frightened. This butterball is so happy now. We are looking for a family who is wanting to continue the work we began. She'e willing, but it will take focus and time. She loves her name too! Ruby comes in a very solid compact little 35 pound body.
All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required.
