Introducing Phineas, a gentle and shy one-year-old, 36-pound Schnauzer mix. This sweet pupper is reserved at first, but if you go slow and earn his trust, you’ll discover a loyal companion. Phineas is cooperative and well-behaved. When leashed, he walks nicely by your side as you explore the world together. Although he might not be interested in playing with toys, he has a curious spirit that comes alive when he explores his surroundings. Phineas finds comfort in enclosed spaces, where he can feel secure and at ease. Open areas make him a bit nervous, but with the right approach, he’s sure to gain confidence. This good boy responds best to a calm and deliberate manner, so take your time getting to know him. His genuine desire to connect and build a bond with you shines through. Consider opening your heart and home to Phineas. He will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates the subtle joy of a quiet and loving friendship. The adoption fee for Phineas is $300, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because he is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.
