My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baxter can be very shy at first meeting, but once he gets to know you, he is friendly and affectionate. He will occasionally sit in your lap, but usually prefers to sit/walk/lay  nearby as he leans into your ear and head rubs.

He would love to be able to sleep around his human at night and he would make a great working companion.  He enjoys finding hidden places to nap, usually under a table or chair and somewhere close to Snickers.

Baxter has the cutest  meow!  It’s high pitched and kind of squeaky, and so, so sweet.

Baxter was very shy and tentative at first, but has become more relaxed and willing to explore his environment.  He loves to play with his best friend Snickers!  They love to wrestle, box, and chase one another all around the house.  Sometimes they will snuggle, and Snickers will groom Baxter.

Baxter has not had any issues using the litter box.

Baxter will do best in a home with his foster brother Roo. They have lived with other cats, although they would do great as an only pair as they are very attached to each other.  They would do best in a quiet home.

Because all of our kitties are in foster homes we do visitations with our cats with pre-approved adoption applications. We place our kittens and cats in homes with the best fit based on personality, age, and location.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. Events will be posted on our website, www.keithaskittierescue.org, and our Facebook page as well as advertised through partners.

All our cats can be seen via a pre-arranged "meet & greet" at anytime.

We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, but we have wonderful, caring foster homes.

More about this rescue

Keitha’s Kittie Rescue was created on August 10, 2017. and became a non-profit, 501(c)(3) on December 27, 2017. We just recently taken another rescue under our wing, Calapooia Critters Rescue and Transport.

The other shelters in the area often require owners to pay a fee to abandon their animal, or overcrowded and not able to take the animal, have the owner make an appointment to assess the animal or there is no local shelter in the community, and sometimes the animals a stray and takes time to adjust before being adopted or they need medical care. Keitha’s Kittie Rescue is all volunteer, foster based shelter.

Volunteers care for the cats and kittens in their homes. Adoption events are also held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. All money goes for the cats litter, food and medical care.

Our mission is to create a safe environment and find a future home for the unwanted, unloved, forgotten cats that no other rescue will take. We get a lot of injured, ill, and abused cats. Our veterinarian bills are quite high but we do what we can to raise funds and keep our animals in the best health. We NEVER euthanize unless it is extremely necessary. We have a few hospice foster homes where an animal can live out the rest of its days in love and comfort. It is our calling, our focus, and our main drive in life.
