"Hi there. My name is Darla and I came here with my senior buddy Bear on 11/11 after our owner was evicted and left us alone at the house with the door open, so we could go in and out. Well, of course we were scared and started roaming the streets trying to find our people. We never found them, but at least we were brought here where we are safe and warm.
I'm a bit of a shy girl, but super sweet. Once I bond with you, I will want to be by your side. I take treats gently and like to play. I really like to cuddle. I'm new to leash walking, but am learning very quickly. Gentle encouragement is how I learn best. I'm a submissive girl, and dream of a home where I can curl up by you, on a rug or blanket.
I love my old friend Bear. We've been through a lot. He gives me great comfort and security, so it would be great if we can stay together. In fact, if you adopt me and Bear, you get a 2-for-1 deal. AND, should Bear ever need major medical vet care, it is being sponsored by the Helping Paw Project, as long as you take him to one of their partner vets.
BUT, if you just can't take us both, then with time, I'm sure I can adjust. I just want a family who won't leave me behind!
