My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hola, amigo! I’m Ariele Angelina, a ten-pound female chihuahua, roughly five to eight years old (a lady never tells). I was recently rescued from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, and brought all the way to Wisconsin, where I was fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and gotten up-to-date on heartworm medication. Now this world traveler is ready to settle down for good with a forever family; how about yours?

One thing I’ve noticed since moving to Wisconsin is that it is cold here! Wearing a sweater helps me keep warm, not to mention look stylish. My favorite way to keep warm, however, is snuggling! I love to cuddle in bed on a cool night, and I’m always happy to add kisses. I will greet you ecstatically with them when you come home, and if you sit on the floor, I’ll consider you fair game for play and even more kisses!

As you might expect, I’m a quick mover, so I’ll need a fenced-in yard. Loud noises make me want to run and hide, so I’ll need a quieter environment with no small children. I would love to have a doggy sibling or two to play with, but I’ll need to be fed in a separate room because I can be a bit possessive with my food. I also love a good car ride, but only if I’m safely latched into a doggy car seat to help me resist the urge to move around.

I adjust easily to new surroundings and can’t wait to take one more trip to my forever home. You won’t believe how quickly I’ll move into your heart!

Ariele’s adoption fee is $300. If you want to adopt Ariele, please DO NOT SEND A MESSAGE TO OUR RESCUE GROUP. We are too busy placing dogs in great homes to answer messages and inquiries through the listing site.

More about this rescue

CRT does not warehouse dogs in a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!

CRT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public charity. We have no paid employees. We are dedicated to rescue, adoption and the medical care of stray and homeless Chihuahuas in need, and to help control the growing overpopulation through spaying and neutering all dogs in our care.
