My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The dashing Mr. Gunner comes to us from a shelter in Maryland where he was adopted out once, and then came back to the same shelter as a stray. He is now on the hunt for a mom or dad that will make sure he has a loving home for the rest of his days! Though Gunner is almost 6 years old, he still has loads of energy. He enjoys being in daycare with his friends and though he prefers not to play too rough, he is great at gently responding to his younger friends when they want to get a little rowdy.
Gunner doesn’t enjoy being alone too much, and if you are around he wants to be in your company. He is a big lover of human attention and is looking to become a human’s best friend. One of his best assests as a hound is his ability to walk on a leash. He is not a huge puller, and will respond promptly to a gentle leash correction.

Gunner is super food motivated and will do anything for a treat. This will be extremely helpful for any training that an adopter wants to do. If an adopter has more than one pup, we would recommend separately feeding them and Gunner.

Gunner will be great as an only pup or in a multi-dog household.

Gunner has likely lived in a home in his previous life, but may need some potty training in his new digs.

Gunner rides great in a crate in a car.
