Hey, I'm Etta! At 7 years-old, I've still got plenty of jazz and dance left in me! You'll often find me soaking up the sunshine outdoors, just enjoying life to the fullest. My second love is yummy food and treats. I absolutely adore my belly being full! You know what would make my tail wag like crazy? Living out my dream of munching on a juicy burger in the passenger seat with my forever family! A dog can dream, right? I can be a bit choosey of my canine friends. Just to be sure, a meet and greet is needed to assure we can get along. Staff doesn't know how I do with cats. I'm a laid-back girl with good manners ready to complete a home. WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
