My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sabot is a 7-year-old Sable Rough Collie sweetheart who just wants to be loved. We were alerted to his need for rescue earlier this month by the wonderful volunteers of Cobb County Animal Services and some kindhearted folks who follow our Facebook page. Our Georgia team got straight to work to bring him into our program, and he’s been receiving lots of TLC in his foster home ever since!

Don’t let the powdered sugar look of Sabot’s darling face fool you—he’s still plenty spunky and spry! He gets the zoomies several times a day and has an absolute blast playing with his foster siblings. He also loves going on strolls and showing off his beautiful leash-walking skills, and he’s a great car rider who is always up for a fun trip away from home.

Sabot is completely house-trained and has impeccable manners. He has great recall, and he doesn’t even wait for a command to sit with the handsomest posture and wait for a treat!

Sabot loves everyone he’s ever met and thrives on human companionship. Like many Collies, he loves to use his voice to “talk” to his foster mom and tell her everything he’s thinking and feeling—and when someone’s at the door, of course! He loves hugs, head pats, and back scratches, and he loves to cuddle on the couch with her.

Sabot does pretty well with other dogs and really enjoys having canine companions, although he does need to be fed separately so that he doesn’t become anxious that his food will be stolen—or be tempted to steal someone else’s food himself! He also has a classic alpha dog personality, so he’ll do best in a forever home where he has a mellow, even-keeled dog sibling who is more on the submissive side. We also think that he would adjust to being an only dog as long as he receives plenty of human attention and affection to make up for it!

We’re determined to find Sabot a forever person/family that loves him just as much as he loves them. If you think that’s you, please apply to adopt him today!

Sabot is being fostered in Georgia.
