Cooper is a wonderful companion dog.
His owner gave him up to due to a dramatic changes in lifestyle.
He loves kids and would benefit from a stay at home parent who wants a true companion dog.
He is a large gentleman but in the truest form he is a gentle collie and kindness is his middle name.

Please go to our website and submit an application and then Email the application to us

Interview

1st we do a phone interview and we check your vet references. After that we send the Home Visit offer.

Home Check

Adoption process changed due to Covid. We will be limiting in home visits and required.

More about this rescue

Coastal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Virginia. We are a foster home based animal Shelter dedicated to finding loving new homes for unwanted, stray, and abandoned Shelties, Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, doodles and other small dogs. We serve Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania, and are staffed solely by volunteers. We also strive to educate the public about the characteristics of the herding breed and the rewards of giving a home to a rescued dog.

The majority of the Coastal dogs are turned in to us by their previous owners.
