Marigold was found as a sweet stray on the harsh streets of Greece. Her rescuers spayed her with the intent to release her back but they ultimately didn’t have the heart to. So Marigold went into foster care there last January and waited for someone to notice her but unfortunately no one did. A flight angel stepped up and Marigold made her freedom flight to Canada to find a family. Although shy to start, Marigold is such a good girl. She's friendly with other dogs once introduced, and especially playful with puppies or young dogs. She walks well on a leash, is house and crate trained and even good with cats. She can also have run of the house because she has proven she is not a destroyer. Marigold is a very sensitive dog and change was hard for her when she arrived. She was very scared and unsure. Her adopter(s) should have experience with rescue dogs and understand the rule of decompression, "three days, three weeks, three months" and be patient with her but also nurture and build her confidence. Marigold is currently living with a senior dog who she respects and several young dogs which she loves to play with. Her ideal home would be with someone that understands this will be a transition for her, has a secure, fenced yard, and in a quieter setting. She can startle with the unpredictability of young children so children 12+ at this time is best. She would also greatly benefit from some obedience training to build trust with her person. If this sounds like you, please fill out an application. Marigold is spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccines.
She is being fostered in Port Colborne, ON.
