Meet Parker - a playful and deserving pup
Parker started off being reserved when he met his foster's residential dog and husband. However, over time, he has warmed up to them, showing an ability to build trust. Parker sometimes exhibits a bit of guarding when he's in his crate or with a toy. Identifying triggers for this behavior can be crucial in understanding and managing it effectively. Patience, building trust, and positive training will do wonders for this furry friend. Parker engages in playful activities like tug of war with a residential female dog. Understanding when these interactions are positive may offer insights into his personality and preferences when it comes to playing. Parker loves running around at full speed in the yard, showcasing high energy levels and a playful nature. He is potty trained which indicates a level of training and adaptability. We do not transport dogs. All dogs must be picked up from Northern VA in person by the adopter.

More about this rescue

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
