This lovable scamp is Hogan- the next contestant in our mission of finding the best homes for the best dogs. If he could talk, he would describe himself as a friendly and affectionate one-year-old mix who is looking for a special person or people to call his own. If you are looking for a dog that would love and cherish you and devote his life to you, then look no further than this little guy.

Hogan is always excited when his special human walks through the door, no matter if they have been gone for five seconds or five hours. He’d love to play, interact, and follow you around like your faithful shadow. He is inquisitive and likes to be involved with what is going on with those he loves. He will want to play with his stuffed toys play catch together, and do zoomies around the house. This sweet boy also enjoys long walks around a calm and quiet neighbourhood, except when it's rainy or windy outside, he will do his business and run right back into the house..

Hogan is well-mannered and does well on a leash. He takes the lead but does not pull. Zigzags is his walk of choice. He is not prey-driven and does not go after other animals, but will sometimes bark at other dogs. He meets new people with a sniff and a wag of his tail to say hello and then continues on his way. He is also a gentleman in the car.Hogan has lived with dogsin the shelter with no issue and has not been cat tested but since he has no prey drive we believe dog savvy cats would be fine. He is crate trained and does well with it, sleeping in it at night and enjoying naps with his pillow and blanket in it during the day.

This good boy makes the perfect lapdog and cuddle bug and is adaptable for most living arrangements, such as a house or apartment, as long as he has access to green spaces.

Since he has an inquisitive nature, Hogan would benefit from 2+ walks a day and canine enrichment such as food puzzles and toys. This pups has sensitive skin and is on a salmon-based diet, with special additives such as Kefir and fish oil to help. He is also responding well to oatmeal baths and Epsom salt soaks. He may do well as an only dog, with an owner who is home most of the time, or with a flexible work schedule. Hogan has not been tested around children but could potentially do well with respecful children 8+ year-old children.

Although a little skittish around others, Hogan is just looking for love and commitment. He doesn’t mind being picked up and carried around or sit enjoying his favourite person’s lap. He is warm-hearted and affectionate but needs time and space to feel comfortable around new people. In summary, if you’re looking for a devoted, smart, well-mannered, and bright boy - think Hogan and complete the adoption paperwork at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/. Someone will happily get back to you to set up a date with this fine gentleman.

All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.

BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
