My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tiny's estimated DOB is 08/16/2020 and he's a brindle Great Pyrenees. Poor Tiny (AKA Timmy) came to us after his parents' home burned down and they had no place for him to go. But despite this tough time in his life, he remains a fun, loving boy who just wants to be the center of attention.
He was recently with a wonderful foster who discovered that he is a pretty great dog to have around the house! He is house trained, doesn't chew on anything, and wasn't even scared around the vacuum!
The foster had two other dogs who he was incredible around. On top of having zero food aggression while being fed next to them, when one of the older dogs got snippy and snarly around him he was respectful and gave him space, avoiding any scuffles or fights.
Tiny is an incredibly smart dog - he even learned how to use a doggy door within minutes of being in the house! He is also an extremely loving dog. He attaches himself to people quickly and loves a good nighttime cuddle on the couch as well as sleeping by his persons side. He also thinks he is a lap dog (even though he is a little too big to fit!) so he needs reminders to keep all four paws on the floor when getting love.
He has great leash manners and loves to play fetch.
Tiny is extremely athletic, and does need some training so he can learn to harness that energy into productive playing rather than zoomies around the house! He would do best with a family who is active outdoors or a home with lots of land for Tiny to play on.

Tiny does get along with cats.

Go meet their pets

The sanctuary is open to the public. We encourage you to bring along any potential fur-siblings to help pick out your new pet as well. We also hold monthly offsite adoptions at Petsmart and Petco stores in Springfield Missouri, Fayetteville & Rogers Arkansas, and at Orscheln's Farm & Home in Republic, MO. Please find us on Facebook to see where we're going next! (Schedules vary)
We don't always get a chance to check our emails throughout the day, so the quickest way to reach us is by giving us a call at 417-835-3647. Come out and meet your new best friend!

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and cats, and for those left homeless by the death of their guardian. We provide an environment as homelike as possible with lots of loving care to our furry residents. It may take days or years, but we will always keep trying for all of the animals in our care. Volunteers and donations are always needed and welcome!
