My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Austero is my name and I have loved every dog I have met while in foster.
My foster mom is very sick with stage 4 cancer and in Hospice now, she really wants to see me safe in a loving forever home, so I need a new foster or adopter ASAP.

I'm a young at heart and playful boy and have adjusted to all the family where I live including some wild human boys.   Actually, I do like most humans. Women are a bit easier for me than men, but I will snuggle with the guys after I see I can trust them. Life with me will never be boring I assure you! Check out my beautiful eyes and that adorable smile of mine!

I'm not a big fan of crates but, am crate trained to go in for meals. I love food! I also prefer being an inside dog. I will go out and do my business and be right back at the door 3 minutes later asking you to let me in. I love having a home and being with my people.
I put the photo of him with two ladies he just met for videos and photos to show he adjusts pretty quickly to women,

My foster mommy says I'm very sassy and have a great deal of the husky demeanor. I will do best in a home with no small children simply due to my play style and not being able to realize when I might knock a child over.

I'm also very food motivated which his helpful when doing any kind of training.
Hès very much a ladies man though.
Once he trusts you, you get a free pass. I literally pick him up and put him in the bathtub because he'd be bracing himself with all 4 paws on the door frame trying not to be get his bath.

Austero is an older gentleman of 8-9 years old and a calm dog most of the time.

Our dream home for Austero is a couple of lovely, sweet ladies with or without kids who are medium energy, like walks and cuddling.

More about this rescue

Whiskers, Tails and Ferals is a network of volunteers and foster families caring for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who have been abandoned, are feral, or are facing the threat of being euthanized at an animal shelter.
All dogs and cats that come into our program are spayed or neutered. Felines are FeLV and possibly FIV, vaccinated, wormed (as needed) and micro-chipped.
All sick animals are immediately put under the care and supervision of a Napa veterinarian and Whiskers, Tails and Ferals pays for their medications.
The cats and kittens that are not able to be tamed, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and returned to their colonies where colony guardians continue to feed and care for them.
