Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I’m Cinnamon, a 1-year-old shepherd mix from Memphis, Tennessee. I may be a rare beauty (please see my Cindy Crawford mole), but don’t be intimidated—I’m actually very down to earth! In fact, I’ve never met a person I didn’t like, and I’ll prove it to you by licking your hand and gazing at you adoringly until you believe. I weigh 45 lbs and seem to be done growing, and not to brag on myself but the nice rescue lady said I have the prettiest eyes she’s ever seen. Wow—blushing!!!! 🥰 They’re calling me Cinnamon here, but you can call me Butterscotch, Pumpkin Spice, “Hey Dog,” whatever you’ve got, just don’t call me late for dinner!
I was found scrounging for food and hiding in a bramble bush in midtown Memphis, and I gave the neighbors quite a scare by running past all their ring cameras in the middle of the night like a phantom and then refusing to be caught just as the weather was starting to freeze. Whew! Life on the run was rough, but one day I saw this trail of bacon treats leading into a fenced backyard and between you and me America I had to find out where all this was going. Next thing I know, wham, it’s 72 degrees, I’m in a room that smells like Tide, I’m bankrolled with free healthcare and all the kibble I can eat. Can’t believe my luck!
I went to the vet next and made all new friends there. They couldn’t believe what a nice dog I am, and I couldn’t believe they were just giving out free treats to any dog who showed up. I mean! They gave me my shots, looked inside my ears, poked me in the belly, and held me upside down like a baby, and I confess I thought that was all a little weird but hey, whatever y’all are into, just keep the treats coming and I’m your girl.
I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m unfazed by strange dogs barking at me. I also met an exuberant nine year old who threw her arms around me the minute we met and I have to say I was into that. Somebody somewhere must have crate trained me because I am very polite in my house habits. I’m quiet and snoozy in my crate and I haven’t made any messes in the house. I am also not a hyper dog—I may look like a puppy, but I’m your classic girl next door type—I just like to lounge and chew on my bone. If you’re doing Netflix and chill, great! That’s what I’m doing, too. Alexa! Cue up Bluey.
Once I’m spayed, I will be looking for my forever home. I would love a family who likes kisses and throwing toys and wants me to sit right on their feet all the time because I have a lot of love to give. If you’re looking for a new friend this Christmas, call me up!
Xoxo
