My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!**

Name: Queen

Sex / Age / Weight: Female, 1-2 years (estimate), 60 lbs

Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.

House / Crate Trained: Yes to both

Leash Trained: Yes

Energy Level: Medium. Queen loves to be outside, running and playing. But she equally loves to be inside, cuddling with her people on the couch or in bed.

Before FAR: Queen was a neighborhood stray. The local Animal Control was called and Queen spent several days at the shelter before she moved to a foster home. She gave birth to ten happy, healthy babies, most of whom have already been adopted. And now it’s Queen’s turn!

Things she likes: running and playing with canine friends, going on walks, Nylabones or Benebones, plush toys to destroy, squeaky and crinkly toys, treats (lots of treats!), nice places to nap (a human’s lap, doggy beds, couches, beds), ideally by the side of her human(s). And of course she loves to give and receive hugs. It seems like Queen’s goal in life is to make up on all the loving she missed during her life as a stray.

Things she doesn’t like: Queen is a very happy girl – there isn’t much of anything she doesn’t like. Other than loud noises, such as gun shots.

Ideal Family / Home: Queen would fit good in almost any home – with or without other dogs, with or without children. She is a “happy-go-lucky” dog who is happiest being where her family is - whether that's inside or out in the yard. Her sweet nature shines through in every action, making her the perfect companion for those seeking a furry friend to share life’s joys.

If you are interested in giving Queen a furever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt; however, it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the animal. Some of our animals have the fees listed in their individual post but if you do not see one then please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to let you know the cost to adopt a particular pet. If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events some Saturdays at various locations around middle GA from 11 am-3 pm. Check our Facebook page for updates on Events! We are also able to arrange meet and greets for local adopters!

More about this rescue

Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!

We are currently based out of Macon, GA but partner with a quality private transport group that helps us get our furbabies to homes up and down the east coast so don't let distance deter you from contacting us about one of our furry friends!
