MEET BUBBA -
BUBBA is living @ the home of the founder of ADR.org on Orcas Island, WA- together with other chowchows who look a home as well and are posted as well: ARCHIE, JULIAN, LULU, and ALONZO.
BUBBA is 94% Chow and 6% Samoyed. He weights 58lbs. He was owner surrendered at a New Mexico shelter located close to an air base: Owner had no more time for him and was going out of country to another airbase.
BUBBA is a gentle soul, very calm, settled, and balanced.
From observation and assessment, ADR.org would recommend a calm home with low "People-traffic". A home where people cherish him, love to go on hikes on the weekend and during the week intend to go on multiple walks with him. He likes structure, likes his routine.
BUBBA is NOT compatible with cats, be it in the household itself or visiting over the fence from somewhere else. He has a strong cat prey drive.
He prefers female friends, but would possibly be compatible with a non-boisterous, laid-back male dog (a senior dog included)
He walks wonderfully on a leash, really enjoys these walks, and does not pull. He is crate trained but the crate shall only be a place to stay for a few hours. BUBBA enjoys long walks and needs enough stimulation and enrichment during the day.
A good situation would also be a spacious securely fenced backyard.
