My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET JULIAN - a 4-5yr. old Pure Breed petite Chowchow.

Julian was rescued from high kill shelter in Apple Valley past year and is looking for a committed forever home.

He is living with the founder of ADR.org on Orcas Island [OI], WA.

JULIAN is under 5 years old, weighs about 43lbs., shows a “typical chow personality: he wants HIS Human with a calm but strong pack leader mentality. JULIAN can be feisty and playful at times- so we would not recommend a home with children under 12years –
All dogs adopted through ADR.org are altered, microchipped, fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella.
From observation and assessment, ADR.org would recommend a structured, and calm home with not too many people coming and going as he does not like hectic. He is often nervous about new situations, and people he never met. But he does warm up quickly.
A home where people cherish him, love the breed, and give him enough 1:1 at home.
A solid fenced backyard would be a nice PLUS as he loves to run and “patrol” . He has one acre here.
JULIAN also likes things structured, likes his routine. His compatibility with cats is guarded and would need an experienced owner around in that case. ADR.org has cat evaluated him and the founder would be happy to share that video with you.
He would love a girlfriend, but would accept with a non-boisterous, too energetic male dog- HE Says>>.
If you are interested in hearing more about JULIAN, contact me, the founder of ADR.org by emailing me to ADR@animaldefenserescue.org so that I can send you the proper ADR.org application.
Tell me something about you and why you think you want to give JULIAN a home that I so wish for him. There are more videos that can be shared with you as well.
Please share a bit about yourself in email, add some photos of your home and the outside of your home (fenced yard etc.?)
Once I have your application back, we will have a phone call then to discuss it more and I get to know you better.
WOOFLY,

JULIAN and ADR.org

2.

a 45-60min phone call will follow once the potential adopter has emailed the application back.

3.

Additional adoption info

Adopters will request an application by sending an email to : ADR@animalDefenserescue.org

Each prospective owner fills out an adoption application. All applicants must live in WA (exceptions are possible), and we ask that children in your home are at least ten years old. We usually have limited information of history of our rescue dogs and are therefore very careful about placing them in households with children.
We require that everyone in the immediate family, including your current dog (if you have one) come to the appointment to meet your potential new dog. Adopting a dog is a big family decision and requires a commitment from everyone.
At the appointment, we will help you assess whether the dog is a good match for you and family or not.

Before you bring your new dog home, you must sign an Adoption agreement with Animal Defense Rescue. In addition, a $ 375$ adoption fee is requested. The adoption donation is non-refundable.
Please remember that adoption contributions barely cover our expenses and only defray the costs. Additional donations are greatly appreciated and will help us continue our life-saving work.
Step 4: Post Adoption Follow Up
Our goal is to help you enjoy life with your new dog to the fullest extent possible. If issues arise, or you just need some good advice, we are happy to do follow-up counseling by telephone or in person. We can also suggest local dog trainers.

More about this rescue

AnimalDefense Rescue is a small non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing primarily dogs from high-kill shelters in mostly CA, as well as homeless, lost and abandoned animals in WA , and rehoming from owners who can no longer care for them for important reasons. By building and working with the rescued dogs at her home, the founder and president assures asessment, training and rehabilitation . ADR.org works with local veterinarians to make sure future adoption homes will have a clean and complete health record for the adopted dog, ADR.org finds well-matched, and carefully screened adopters and adoption homes to ensure the dog will NEVER be returned to a shelter again in his lifetime.
AnimalDefense Rescue will serve as a resource to pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
