Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED
Vader is a handsome 5-year-old Tricolor Rough Collie who is hoping to find his forever family this holiday season. He’s on the smaller side at 56 lbs., and his foster mom says that he’s an incredibly sweet boy whose name doesn’t quite do his loving nature justice.
Vader gets along great with other dogs and really enjoys being part of the pack in his foster home! He has also done just fine with his foster family’s cat; he’s curious about the cat but doesn’t bother him. He loves human companionship and is happy to always be at his foster mom’s side, even if that means curling up and napping nearby while she’s working.
Vocal Vader is always on the alert to make sure that his foster mom knows what is going on around them. Cars, trucks, buses, people, bicycles, boats, jet skis—if it’s in the neighborhood, he’s going to make sure that his foster mom knows about it! For all his barking bravado, he can actually be a bit shy when meeting strangers, but we have no doubt that with a little patience and a lot of love, he’ll become best friends with all the humans in his life!
Vader is a very well-mannered Collie gentleman with great recall. He’s still working on learning some commands, and his leash skills are in progress, too. We’re sure that with a little patience and continued effort, Vader will master leash walking and command training in no time. That being said, due to his history before rescue and in-progress leash training, Vader does have to have a physical fence in his forever home to ensure that he stays safe.
When Vader got to us, his skin was extremely dry, and his coat was quite matted. His foster mom has diligently groomed all of his mats out, and she says that Vader really enjoys being brushed. With a nutritious diet and supplements, Vader’s skin is already improving. We’re sure
that with a continued healthy diet and routine grooming, Vader’s skin and coat will be healthy and beautiful!
If you think that this special sweetheart would be the perfect addition to your family, apply to adopt him today!
