My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie (about 5 months old as of 12/5/23) is a spayed female cool-toned brown tabby shorthaired kitten. Charlie and her sisters were born to a feral cat in Winthrop Harbor that we've been trying to trap and spay for over 2 years. Thankfully we finally caught her this time, but her 3 newest daughters were about 10 weeks old and already turning feral. With some intense TLC in a foster home they've made a lot of progress and are now ready to be adopted as pet cats. Charlie plays a kind of "middle sister" role and was the second kitten to start trusting humans. She's a smart little girl that loves to play and when she gets tired she might even fall asleep in your lap, at least for a little while. She likes being pet and is starting to enjoy being held for brief periods. She gets along great with her sisters and would probably do best adopted along with one of them or as a little sister to another young playful kitty. She has never lived with a dog and because she's a little more shy we think she'd do best in a cat only household without any especially young children that couldn't give a shy kitty more space and quiet time as she gets used to them.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held either Saturday or Sunday in Lake County, usually in the Waukegan or Libertyville area. Like Spay and Stay on Facebook to see adoption event locations. Cats can also be met in their foster homes with an approved application. Care Animal Hospital, 1214 W. Park Ave, Libertyville also fosters 1-2 cats that can be seen during normal business hours.
