My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I’m Jasper and I’m a 70 pound, 3 year old pit mix. I’m a huge cuddly, playful baby who would love a home with other playful pups and a huge fenced in backyard! I do well with cats and people, but I haven’t gotten the chance to be around young kids yet. I absolutely love all other dogs, big or small, and can’t get enough of toys, especially if they’re squeaky.

My foster mom and dad tell people I think I’m a lap dog and my foster mom loves it when I smile. I’m very food motivated and will tell you when I have to go out (I promise you just have to listen when I tell you)! I’m a quick learner and will love to sit with you on the couch or cuddle-up in bed.

You’ll see one of my foster brothers in some of my pictures below because we’re best friends! I am a little shy at first, but I warm up really fast! Please give me a lot of love, cuddles, and some patience, and I’ll be your friend forever.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Go meet their pets

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.

You can view our schedule of events at www.adoptapitrescue.org/events or on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/adoptapitrescue

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue, re-home and rehabilitate abused, neglected and discarded "bully breed" dogs, with a focus on educating and advocating to ensure all bully breeds have a positive and optimistic future in a breed discriminatory society.
