My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper is a 9-year-old healthy loving boy. He was adopted as a puppy and recently given up by his owners who could no longer care for him. He is a great dog used to living with people. He will tell you if he needs more food or needs to go outside. Cooper is happy to just be while you work or do whatever you need to do during your day. He is a perfect companion for a busy person or a sedentary person. He is not demanding of your time. Food, love, and a couple walks. He doesnt like the fancy treats, but loves a traditional biscuit or cookie. Coopers favorite toy is a ball, but make sure you have a hearty ball such as a Chuckit! ball or it will be shredded in no time (e.g., no tennis balls). Cooper loves the dog park. He runs and runs and plays until you take him home. He behaves like a much younger dog.

Cooper is a perfect match for someone who is busy and needs a quiet undemanding companion or sedentary and requires a dog that does not require much maintenance. He is also a good family dog. He just wants to love and be loved. No effort is required to integrate him into your life. He does not demand any special attention or accommodations. He is already trained and socialized. Cooper already knows some commands like sit and down, but would enjoy and benefit additional training.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.

Adoption application

Our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
