My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Russell is sweet, gentle boy with a calm personality and a deep love for cuddles. Bouncy in his kennel, it isn’t always obvious to passersby how much of a lovebug this boy really is. But, if you take the time to meet him, you’ll love him as much as we do!! Russell has settled into the routine of shelter life and has bonded with his volunteer pals. Here’s what some of them said:

“I walked Russell several times this week. He is a very relaxed, slow, loose leash walker who loves to stop for treats and pets. In his kennel he is anxious, but now that he knows me better, he gives me kisses and leans in for hugs during our time sitting in the park. He will make someone a very sweet companion.”

“Russell was easy to leash and was a nice walking buddy, loose leash, steady but slow pace. He enjoyed sniffing, made good eye contact with me, and accepted treats nicely.”

“Russel is sometimes worked up in his kennel, but every time I have walked him, he is calm and sweet. Today Russell was calm and loose leash. Very sweet boy out of kennel. Independent and mellow.”

“Lately when I’ve gotten Russell out, he hasn’t been interested in walking far, so we’ve gone to a play yard instead. He stays right next to me, and this sweet boy just wants to be as close as possible, practically in my lap, getting love and comfort. I think shelter life is particularly hard on him. He deserves a quiet home and all the love he can handle.”

Russell would love to find a family who will go at his pace and help him build confidence. He’s been tolerant though a bit nervous when meeting other dogs in playgroup, so he’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Please ask to meet Russell today!!
