My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alma, a cat who carries a heart as warm as her name suggests. She is a sweet and gentle soul, radiating a calmness that is truly comforting. Her independence is one of her most admirable traits. She doesn't need constant attention, but when she does seek your company, it's a joy to behold. Alma has a knack for making friends with everyone she meets. She has a particular affinity for human companionship, finding solace in our presence. Her long, tabby coat adds to her charm, making her all the more endearing. Alma's disposition is such that she would make a wonderful addition to any home. Her gentle nature and friendly demeanour make her the perfect companion for those seeking a pet with a calm and loving personality. Adopt Alma, and let her fill your home with the warmth and affection she so readily offers.

Alma is an insulin dependent diabetic, she happily receives her insulin twice daily while eating her special yummy food, paying no mind to her injections.

More about this shelter

The Gananoque & District Humane Society (GDHS) is a volunteer run no kill animal shelter that takes in abandoned or surrendered animals, provides them with medical care and attempts to find them forever homes. Every animal that enters GDHS is quarantined, assessed and examined by a vet (if necessary), spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. We do not receive guaranteed funding from any source and rely on the generosity of our community.
